NAMOK-KFCR Seoul International Cancer Online Symposium Welcome Remark
Hello. I am Tae-hwan Lim, president of the Korean Academy of Medicine. I sincerely welcome you to the NAMOK-KFCR Joint Meeting - Seoul International Cancer Symposium 2020. The National Academy of Medicine (NAMOK) co-hosts an international symposium with the Korea Cancer Research Foundation (KFCR) every year. This year, in line with the COVID-19 epidemic, a symposium is being broadcast online, and through this, people interested in cancer treatment will be able to participate in our symposium more easily.
The theme chosen this time was “Cancer Therapeutics Development, Are we in the right direction?”. In three sessions: Medical Therapeutics, Therapeutics in Surgical Technology, and Clinical trial future direction, renowned scholars from Korea, Japan, China, and the United States will give lectures. In each session, we will look at the future direction of the cancer treatment field and have an interesting discussion on the latest.
I would like to thank the executives of the Korea Cancer Research Foundation (KFCR) Chairman Yoon-ok Ahn, who worked hard for the development of the cancer research field in Korea and prepared the venue for this academic exchange, as well as Chairman Byung-in Choi of the International Cooperation Committee and the members of the committee for preparing this symposium. I think this symposium will be of great help to Korean cancer experts in understanding the latest research trends. I hope that today's symposium will be an academic venue that can contribute to the development of the Korean cancer research field. Thank you.
